Owl & Dog Playbooks is an independent children's book publisher founded by design studio Yard. We create carefully designed books that invite children to read, play, and discover. Each title combines inventive formats with engaging storytelling, encouraging imagination, interaction, and shared experiences between children and adults. Our books champion the joy of the physical object — tactile, surprising, and enduring. They are designed to be explored as much as read, blending the wisdom of the Owl with the playfulness of the Dog. Whether you come to us for creativity, curiosity, or craft, our mission remains the same: to make books to play, and toys to read.
