THILIKO (FEMALE)

Store Collection The Queer Archive
€18,00
The Queer Archive presents THILIKO (Female), an independent zine curated by Konstantinos Menelaou, created on the occasion of his film of the same title.

Through texts, personal narratives, and different readings, the zine approaches the figure of Aliki Vougiouklaki and everything that continues to be activated around her: the body, female identity, desire, sexuality, the star system, memory, and mythology.

Without seeking a unified interpretation, THILIKO creates a meeting place for diverse perspectives, exploring the ways in which Aliki’s image continues to exist, transform, and be reinterpreted today.

The publication features contributions from Kassandra Aetou, Efi Alevizou, Sarantos Georgios, Antonis Gritsis, Aris Dimokidis, Yiorgos Kalogerapoulos, Eirini Kartsaki, Konstantinos Kyriakos, Manos Lamprakis, Thalia Mavros, Yiorgos Sampatakakis, Ilias Sapountzakis, Thanasis Spiliotopoulos, and Charilaos Trouvas.

THILIKO (Female)  is an independent publication by The Queer Archive and a parallel extension of the film, transferring the conversation from the cinematic image to writing, personal narrative, and collective memory.

The Queer Archive is an online commercial gallery and curatorial platform dedicated to the presentation and sale of contemporary queer art. Founded in London in 2013, it operates as a digital-first space for the exhibition, distribution, and circulation of works by emerging and established artists. Working closely with artists, curators, and cultural practitioners, The Queer Archive develops curated online exhibitions, editions, and artist-led projects, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, collectability, and critical engagement. The platform supports artists not only through visibility but through active sales, commissioning, and long-term collaboration. At its core, The Queer Archive functions as a hybrid model—combining curating, commerce, and production—designed to sustain and expand the market for queer artistic practices. Through its online gallery structure, it creates a direct link between artists and collectors, fostering an international network while contributing to the economic and cultural visibility of queer work.
