A century of postcards: Images and letters of a city
A collection of Thessalonian postcards from 1912 to the late 1980s, divided into 4 parts based on their printing technique. A tribute to the unsung craftspeople of an art form that is gradually disappearing, as well as to the letter writers: French soldiers of the Macedonian front, Thessalonian Jews, excursionists from Athens, emigrants to America, tourists, friends, and relatives. Yiannis Karlopoulos exhibits a portion of his typographic archive, reconstructing a unique visual identity of the city and commenting on facets and images of its history and life.
