Standards Manual is an independent publishing imprint located in Brooklyn, NY. Its mission is to preserve artifacts of graphic design history and make them available to future generations. From reprinted standards manuals to compendiums of archival work, our titles aim to capture often overlooked work and the designers who created it. Standards Manual was co-founded in 2014 by Jesse Reed and Hamish Smyth. In 2025, Reed took over as Managing Editor and continues to develop new titles with his team.
