Super Terrain is a graphic design collective based in Marseille and Nantes, founded in 2014 by Quentin Bodin, Luc de Fouquet and Lucas Meyer. Their practice mobilizes know-how related tothe manufacture of graphic objects, posters and communication documents with culturein the foreground. At the same time, they develop an artistic practice that plays with the boundaries between art and graphic design, during creative residencies or self-initiated projects.
"Pastel Tuning" is a publication that reports on the collective's residency at Fotokino in February 2023. Over a 15-day period, the three graphic artists took over the exhibition space by building a huge (cardboard) paint box, similar to those found in body shops or industrial paint shops. They dressed it in spray paint, creating a landscape of color inviting visitors to contemplate, and to walk through this environment as if they were walking through the very material of one of their posters.
This modest publication uses the same vocabulary: points of view, colour, windows and superimpositions. In this way, readers can relive the exhibition experience in miniature.
