Dessin - Collection Antoine de Galbert

This book brings together more than 500 drawings from the Antoine de Galbert Collection, assembled over nearly 40 years. 213 artists are featured in alphabetical order, encouraging chance encounters.

“A collection shaped like an abyss of humanity that hits hard, twists, exults, ecstatically, goofs around, overflows, exaggerates, contracts. With elegance, awkwardness, naivety, virtuosity, the works on paper are life that wants to go on, whether we laugh or cry. They reek of life working itself to death.” – Corinne Rondeau

Founded by François Havegeer and Sacha Léopold, the publishing house Empire sees itself as an extension of the activities related to imagery, graphic design, and artist relations undertaken by the Syndicat studio. Through numerous collaborations in the cultural sphere, the publishing house strives to place the issues of image reproduction, documentation, and circulation at the forefront through catalogues, monographs, theoretical works, journals, posters, and reissues. Empire books also publish Revue Faire.
