Visions of the Bauhaus Books

The 14 Bauhaus books, edited by Walter Gropius and László Moholy-Nagy, were published between 1925 and 1930. Their authors discussed design principles, practices, and art-historical approaches from various perspectives. Johannes Rinkenburger has set himself the task of examining and analyzing the contents and key concepts of this avant-garde book series, as well as their background and context, and thus exploring their application and significance for current design schools.

Based on design experiments, new connections and relationships are established, and methods are demonstrated that uncover and apply the Bauhaus legacy to contemporary design, underscoring its fascinating relevance. Visual illustrations combine, reflect, and implement individual approaches and methods from the Bauhaus books with contemporary graphic design methods and techniques.
